So much to tell..

Stampin’ Up! recently added a great feature to their website, a Clearance Rack! Items will be posted there on a first come first serve basis and are up to 79% off the original prices.

Check it out for yourself.

One of the items I picked up was the Turquoise Tin. These babies are great for keeping my Big Shot dies, ribbon, embossing powder, you name it.  They are 10 1/5 x 6 1/2 x 3” (more or less) and look perfect with the All in The Family Little Sister Decor Elements like I’ve done on this tin.

I woke up to another great surprise this morning DEAL OF THE WEEK is back!

CM426B

Each week a new item will be posted (or like this week a group of items) that are The Deal of the Week. You’ll have exactly 1 week to purchase them at that price so don’t miss out.

Week 1 Deals of the Week (from now until Oct 12th at 11:50EDT)

109183  Trio Flower punch $15.99

109041  5-Petal Flower punch  $15.99

110709  My Way punch $16.99

Today is also the day that you can order My Digital Studio. Stampin’ Up!’s digital paper crafting software that comes complete with many of our stamp set images, designer series papers, embellishment and Simply Scrappin’ Kit elements, just to mention a few.

It’s a great addition to your crafting arsenal if you’re like me an love working on your computer. Its amazing for creating hybrid products because the images and embellishments are true to life size so you can digitally place a brad on a project and then after it’s printed add the real life counterpart.  You can create  digital greeting cards, scrapbook pages, even movies. You have the choice of saving your projects in jpg format (great for sharing on your blog), printing them yourself or have them printed through Stampin’ Up!’s partnership with a professional printing service, guaranteeing accurate colour matching for all Stampin’ Up! products.

A contest / fundraiser for cancer!

Gosh I feel like I’ve been away forever! But I’m back now and feeling inspired to create for a cause!

This past weekend Matt and I drove around Toronto to cheer on Weekend to End Breast Cancer walkers. WOW. It’s always an incredible sight to see. Thousands of men, women and even a dog coming together to support a great cause! I’ve participated in 12 of these events so I know that day two is a hard day and the support of people on the street cheering means so much (I cried my way through most of the 60kms when I walked). So we decked out the van and headed out with tootsie pops and stickers (walkers LOVE stickers).

It was incredible to see walkers, many of whom are survivors and currently battling cancer bouncing along the streets, proud and often in pain, some agony. Feet rife with blisters, muscles stiff and aching. Hearts warm and spirits high. The never-ending stream of walkers inspired me to walk again.

So here’s where you can come in! I’ve signed up to walk 60km in Vancouver next year (because I’ll be away when the TO walk is on) and I’ve agreed to raise $2000 but I don’t do things by halves, so I’m hoping to blow that $2000 outta the water!

If you make an online donation today (min. $25) then I’ll throw your name into the hat to win a $50 Stampin’ Up Gift Certificate!  For my  Canadian readers only, you’ll get a tax receipt emailed to you for your donation.

International readers you can still enter and if you’re in a country where there is Stampin’ Up! I will make contact with a local demonstrator to help get you $50CDN worth of supplies. If you’re not in a country where there is Stampin’ Up! then I’ll send you a prize of equal value!

So ONE winner will be drawn today at 11:59pm EDT.  Be sure to get your donations done online before the cut off to be entered!

Donations must be made here http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Vancouver2010?px=3238650&pg=personal&fr_id=1422

thanks for your support.

PS. the noise from the builders is now sporadic so I can actually make videos again! YEAH There will be one coming tomorrow.

Goin’ Digital

While I *patiently* await the release of Stampin’ Up’s My Digital Studio software, I’ve been playing about with Photoshop Elements and I can’t wait to try out  MDS when it is finally ready for order. Imagine access to Stampin’ Up! exclusive images, embellishments and papers and the ability to have to have your creations printed in TRUE Stampin’ Up! colours. But it’s not just for scrapbook pages you can make greeting cards too. It appeals not only to the crafter in my but the geek too! It’s a match made in heaven.

In the absence of SU’s fantastical software to play with (soon my pretties, soon!) I’ve come up with this grand (ahah) creation to dress momma bear’s craftin’ room wall. She will no doubt cringe when she sees it all pictures of her, and I can only imagine there will be a comment something along the lines of “oh no please don’t make me put that I, I look like my mother” It’s true she looks just like my gran and in about 30 years I’ll be looking like her.

Please forgive that I have no idea where the paper or elements came from I downloaded some a while back for an online challenge and didn’t get much further than the downloading part.

Cheater!

Well I had my friend Chan over for a stampin’ day on Monday, we always have a blast  laughing and the odd time we actually stamp.

Chan brought these awesome Cuttlebug Embossing folders and I fell in love! (yes I cheated on SU for a moment!) I’ve been using them, along with the fantastic new Stampin’ Up! Textured Impressions Folder Petals-a-Plenty (available Sept 1st!), with Soft Suede from this years In Colours. OH MY GOSH! It’s heaven. Especially the Petals-a-Plenty it changes feel of the cardstock so much, it makes it soft, almost like fabric, it’s heaven!

Our challenge for the day was to make the funkiest card with some images I’d recently got in a swap with one of my Stampin’ Sistahs, Holly (check out her blog!), one is a pheasant from the Autumn Days Set

autumndays

Mine was, of course, done in Kraft cardstock, along with Soft Suede and some Old Olive. I even used the Rock On, Dude rub on from Chit Chat. Trust me when I say it was pretty cute, you’ll have to trust me, I forgot to take a picture before I posted it. DOH!

Here’s a couple of the other cards that I made that day, please forgive me for my cheating ways.

You’ll notice the peaches in the background of the photos, that’s what’s on tap for today, canning peaches, lots and lots of peaches! If you’re into growing things, and recipes, you can check out my other blog at www.growbakestamp.blogspot.com. It includes stuff about my little garden, my love of cooking and my other venture, Epicure Selections. We’ve Moved

Well not Matt and I, but my Mum and step-dad are in the process of moving and what a process it has been! Seemed like they had a long time to get everything ready for their new place while there old one was waiting to sell, then it sold and the closing date set, it’s since been moved and just this week they’ve been asked to close on Monday! YIKES!  So it’s been panic stations a little bit.  So I do what I do best, craft :)

I set to making We’ve Moved announcements for mum and gord after being inspired by Jen over at The Haystack Needle (LOVE this site!). So while mine aren’t as funky cool as Jen’s they do the trick.

They are super easy to make. Backing is 1/4 sheet of Chocolate Chip cardstock, Whisper White is set up and printed using Avery Design software (free!) and I rolled the Neighbourhood Jumbo Wheel across the bottom in Craft Chocolate chip and embossed in clear embossing powder. I coloured the front using Stampin’ Up’s now retired Pure Colour pencils, but you could also use Prisma Colours and gamsol. Had to add a little sunflower image on the back because they are mum’s favourite.

So easy to make and fun. I think my crafty mojo is finally back!

Construction, Convention, Clubs and Christmas

Most people say that Canada has two seasons, Winter and Construction. Well it’s August so that can only mean 1 thing. CONSTRUCTION!!!  It’s well and truly under way here at Casa Watson.  Core drilling, hammering, banging, and all kinds of noise so the video tutorials have been put on hold until I can hear myself think again :)

Convention is also in full swing and holy cow! Some of the things these girls are seeing. It’s amazing! Let’s just say My Digital Studio is going to be fantastic. Imagine printing your pages and full scrapbooks into gorgeous bound works of art. I can’t wait! It really appeals to the geek in me.

Other convention news, Stampin’ Up!’s partnership with Build-a-Bear was highlighted and the girls were shown some pretty awesome projects they can do using not only paper but fabric! What little girl wouldn’t love a custom made Build-a-Bear tote bag???

Clubs – The last round of Stamp Club was so much fun that I’m doing it again! First group of 5 members is forming and what a great time! The holiday mini is due out on September 1st and I promise you there are some great sets, dies, punches and a few surprises that I didn’t see coming.

Gosh it’s been a week already? Where the heck does the time go?

Been busy here trying getting swaps ready to send to Ellie who will be taking them to SU’s annual convention for me.  31 pages..all about me..yikes I don’t think I’ve scrapbooked 31 pages in total let alone all at one time.

Deal of the Week!

doth4

Vanilla Styled Hodge Podge Hardware only $26.99!  Order it through me between now and Monday at 11:50am EDT and It will only be $25.00. Can’t beat that for a deal!

I’ve managed to get a few cards done, despite a pinched nerved in my neck that makes looking anywhere other than straight ahead very painful. I ordered up the Happy Bday Simply Scrappin’ kit and I love the colour combo. So cheery and bright. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far. (sorry for the poor photos!)
